DEKRA IOL local in Lephalale

In line with the company’s stated intention of expanding its roots and ‘Vision 2028’ – offering all forms of training and skills development, and making a sustainable difference in reducing unemployment – Dekra Institute of Learning (IOL) has opened a branch in Lephalale, a busy town in Limpopo province. There is an urgent need for an accredited provider of skills programmes and industry-related full qualifications and occupational adult-based education in Lephalale (formerly Ellisras), to serve the local coal mining, agricultural, power generation and commercial sectors. 

The pursuit of safety and success remains a top priority for organisations across industries. However,
achieving these goals requires more than just robust safety protocols and procedures. It demands a
deeper understanding of human behaviour and cognition within the workplace – and a willingness to
implement organisational cultural change accordingly, says Christopher Mörsner, Head of Training and

Dekra Industrial SA has clinched its 9 th annual NOSCAR safety award – and achieved its highest-
ever score as a recipient of the greatest safety honour from the National Occupational Safety
Association (NOSA).
However, for Dekra Industrial Managing Director, Johan Gerber, and Dekra Industrial’s Health,
Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager, Carina Kleinhans, there would be no safety without
people.

high-visibility jacket admonishing employees for breaking the rules will spring to many
people’s minds.

Dekra Institute of Learning (Dekra IOL) has announced additional courses in its educational programme that the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) has recently accredited – and which were among its skills programmes and industry-related full qualifications showcased at the A-OSH Expo 2023 in Johannesburg.

Powerful and empowered:
Dekra Industrial has achieved a current overall Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
(B-BBEE) status of Level 1. This rating, effective from 01 April 2023, comes after the company
was previously recognised as a Level 3 contributor with effect from 28 April 2022.
Managing Director Johan Gerber clarifies: “The change from Level 3 to Level 1 status in just
over a year is a tremendous achievement, and we are very pleased and proud to make this
announcement! The revised status gives Dekra Industrial access to tenders for state-owned
enterprises (SOEs) and other projects, where having a Level 1 or 2 status is a minimum
requirement. Furthermore, when the tender stipulates the minimum requirement of a Level 2
status, having a Level 1 status is then an added competitive advantage, with a 135% BEE
procurement recognition.
